World Tai Chi and Chi Kung Day in San Angelo, Texas was beyond all our expectations. Never before, had we had the numbers of people enjoying the benefits of Tai Chi and Chi Kung as this past Saturday. A rain the night before and a mild cool front pushed through, making the River Plaza Park inviting and invigorating. From my perspective, all the participants seemed to enter into a calm state of well being as they slowly moved through each posture like the flow of the Concho River in the foreground.

At 10:00 a.m. over 30 participants, practitioners and guests alike, suddenly transformed from individuals standing on the brick parquet, into a single unified flowing mass of healing energy.

"Stunning!", one person remarked afterwards, "I have never felt such energy in my life."

For me, the highlight was seeing people ranging from 19 to 87 years old ,all gracefully doing tai chi together. I do not know of any other health giving activity that can serve to help and heal such a diverse group of people as well as tai chi. World Tai Chi Day stands as an example of the power of people to enjoy nature and one another's friendship and love of an activity.
