![]() Judy Shields leads exercises and acupressure massage at Irvine Valley College This was the 6th year I've organized World Taiji and Qigong Day at Irvine Vallye College, and we had a record number of teachers and exhibitors participate. We also had our first "Keynote speaker", Shin Lin, Ph.D. Professor Lin is from University of California Irvine and generously gave his time to speak on his research on the physiological effects of taijiquan, qigong and acupuncture on the mind and body. It was a very special part of this year's program, along with presentations on Yi Chuan, Acupressure massage, the Taiji 8 energies, and Warm up exercises. We also had demonstrations on Chen taiji applications and Yang Short form with Fa-jin. Everyone played taiji and qigong together on the lawn in front of the Student Services Center. I heard from several long-time attendees who said this was our best event yet. JoAnna Gee Schoon |
