On Saturday, April 30th, 2005 we will be celebrating the World Tai Chi & Qigong Day at the “Pabellón de la Paz” in the “Luis Muñoz Rivera” Park in San Juan. This free of charge event has been celebrated annually since 1999 as a way of communicating to the general public the many health benefits that the daily practice of these Chinese Internal Arts provide.

Several medical studies have shown that the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong stimulate the immunologic system, slows the aging process, regulates the blood pressure and reduces levels of anxiety and depression. Furthermore, the practice of Tai Chi greatly improves balance and coordination, helping to reduce the incidence of falls amongst the elderly.

The Tai Chi and Internal Arts Association of Puerto Rico (ATCAIPR) invites the public in general to participate in this free event on Saturday, April 30th, 2005 at the “Pabellón de la Paz” from 9:00am. By celebrating World Tai Chi & Qigong Day here in PR, we will be joining over 200,000 people in 60 nations throughout the World that will be practicing Tai Chi and Qigong at the same time that day.
