ALSO, a major breakthrough. The United States Department of Health & Human Services, National Institutes of Health's National Center for Complimentary & Alternative Medicine HAS ANNOUNCED WORLD TAI CHI & QIGONG DAY 2009 TO IT'S web VISITORS !!

Dear World Tai Chi & Qigong Day Supporters,

BIG NEWS: The National Institutes of Health has just announced World Tai Chi & Qigong Day 2009. See: http://nccam.nih.gov/news/thismonth/april09.htm

We are already making history, even before our spectacular global happening we are making together in a few days.

YOU CAN USE THIS NIH announcement to urge your state or nation's Health Secretary or Health Minister to announce your local World Tai Chi & Qigong Day event. For organizes outside the US, the NIH's announcement, can make it easier to get your national Health Ministry to do the same. Beauracracies feel safer to do things, after other recognizable beauracracies have done it already. You can use the above link to show your National Health Minister's office that national health organizations are alerting their people about World Tai Chi & Qigong Day already, so they can and should do the same.

IMPORTANT TIPS for EVENTS & Participants:

On Saturday, April 25th, at 10 am you will have an opportunity to be part of a global wave of Tai Chi and Qigong mass exhibitions in hundreds of cities, in over 65 nations, spanning 6 continents.

ORGANIZERS/TEACHERS: Begin INSPIRING Your Group or Students!

A Photo is Worth a Thousand Words!!

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is one of the most visually spectacular events ever in history.

At www.worldtaichiday.org on several pages is the Photo Gallery of past events, where anyone can click through photos from events in over 50 NATIONS, photos that are moving, fun, and a profound image of humanity breathing together.

If you are a teacher or organizers, encourage your students or group contacts, or Tai Chi or Qigong association to post a link and email their members to get them inspired about this coming event.

Inspiration is the most powerful thing on this planet. www.worldtaichiday.org 's Photo Gallery of Events, is there waiting for you to use it and be a part of it. See below on Photo/Videoing your event.

ORGANIZERS: Photographing or Videoing Your Event is an ART

You can make a thousand people look like twenty

It is VERY important to not be shy about asking your event attendees to "pose" for photos, and to ask them to arrange themselves for the photos.

Over the years we have found that "photo framing" can make a thousand people doing Tai Chi look like about 12 people.

Conversely, good photography can give a small event group a real dynamic and lively look if shot from creative angles, and mixing close up shots of people, with group shots.

Below is an excellent example of how good framing can be done. At the WTCQD event in FLORENCE, ITALY, the photographer helps the viewer see that their is a mass of Tai Chi participants at their event.

Also, the photographer captures the historic beauty of Florence along with the magnificent photo framing, and arrangement of the WTCQD participants to maximize the dramatic effect of the shot.

Converseley, we sometimes see photos from events where hundreds of people attended but, the photo framing makes it look like only a couple dozen showed up.

Below are some WONDERFUL examples of creative ways to frame your photos for WTCQD 2009.

Have several people taking digital photos, and encourage them to be creative, and to not be shy about asking the group to move into formations conducive to great photos ... placing historical or visually beautiful backgrounds behind the Tai Chi or Qigong players, shooting from low or high angles, etc.

Check out this (above) AUSTRALIAN (Oceania) and AUSTRIAN (Europe) EVENT'S PHOTOS.

The Australian photo from Perth, captures the scenic beauty of their city, along with maximizing the crowd effect by shooting from a higher point than the people below.

The Austrian event immediately above, used a CREATIVE POSE/PHOTO to create a beautiful image..

WorldTaiChiDay.org will have a brand new WTCQD Event Photo Gallery up before WTCQD, so you'll all be able to post your photos and video clips yourselves right after your event.

So, be creative, have fun, and shoot alot of photos, so you can find your best 10 photos for the Gallery. Each school can post their 10 best photos, so if your event has 3 schools attending, each listing school can post their best 10 (30 total in that case).

We'll announce as soon as the photo gallery is up, but it will be ready in time for WTCQD.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will be able to post short videos of your WTCQD events on www.worldtaichiday.org 's WTCQD Event Photo Gallery.
In order to do so, the video must be under 10 minutes length, and under a certain mega-byte size. This is because you'll need to post your WTCQD Event Video on YouTube.com and then you will be able to capture the "embed code" off of your YouTube posting, and embed it in your WorldTaiChiDay.org Event Photo Gallery Page.
See YouTube.com for details on how to post your short videos there.
ORGANIZERS: Use the Media Kits
If you haven't sent Press Releases NOW's the TIME !
World Tai Chi & Qigong Day's www.WorldTaiChiDay.org has invested many hours working to provide you with effective Press Releases in over 20 languages.
You'll see them in the "Media Kits" link, which you can locate in the menu on the right at the "Be a Part of This Global Healing Event" page.
Each Press Release has a blank spot for your local contact information.
If several schools are participating in an event, each of you can do your own media work, thereby increasing your event's visibility to local, regional, and national media.
ORGANIZERS: Organizing Tips
Begin Emailing EVERYONE . . . NOW!
Begin contacting all local sister Tai Chi & Qigong organizations in your area. Contact local health networks and institutions so they can post flyers or do emails.
Let local health institutions know that the National Institutes of Health is alerting their visitors about World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, so it would be very helpful if they as a local health institution would help their clients and members, and staff know about this important health education event. Send them the NIH link:
http://nccam.nih.gov/news/thismonth/april09.htm
Many WTCQD event organizing groups, schools and teachers actually partner with local health institutions each year to create more publicized and successful WTCQD events. This NIH announcement will only make that easier.
At your event HAVE AN EMAIL SIGN UP SHEET, SO YOU CAN KEEP IN TOUCH WITH EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS, AND LET THEM KNOW ABOUT LOCAL CLASSES YEAR ROUND.
PRINT OUT THE "OPENING STATMENT" groups around the world read this to invoke their part at 10 am in the global wave of Qi.
