World Tai Chi & Qigong Day Supporters
WOW!! What a wonderful event last Saturday !!
We are getting many, many beautiful photographs from World Tai Chi & Qigong Day events worldwide.
We are saving them as fast as we can, so that our email box doesn't get over filled. Therefore it will take us a couple of weeks or so to get the photos posted on www.worldtaichiday.org
On Sending Your Photos
If you haven't sent your photos yet, please do so, with a short note about what WTCQD 2007 meant to you and your participants.
- Do not reduce them. We like to get large versions in case publications may want to use them in the future.
-Send along the urls of school or group websites shown in the photos, if you can.
It Will Take Us a Couple of Weeks or So to Get Photos Posted
We've gotten so many photos, and WE LOVE IT, but it'll take us a couple of weeks or so to get them up. Let me explain why.
Building up to World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is pretty intense for me and Angela beginning a couple of months out to try and get the Official T-Shirts to supporters in a timely manner, and inspecting them etc. so that you get good product. WE LOVE IT, and APPRECIATE IT, but it is intense.
Then the media work is pretty intense, as we purchase major media releases, and then also telephone, fax, and email hundreds of media worldwide to urge them to contact you about your events.
When we get for example, a call from the Washington Post, or the Seattle Post Intelligencer (as we did this year), we then search and contact all the area teachers and groups to introduce them to the newspaper reporters, and make sure their local efforts get reported, as much as we can.
Then we also need to organize for our own local Kansas City World Tai Chi & Qigong Day.
Once that's over then the photos come in, which WE LOVE TO SEE. But, its a lot of work to download, size, optimize, and then create the web pages for hundreds of events. Again, WE LOVE IT, but we don't want to love it to death, you see. We want to breathe, and relax a bit, and take our time getting them up, as we de-compress a bit from all the above activity.
So, PLEASE KEEP SENDING THE PHOTOS IN . . . but also, please be patient as it may take us a couple of weeks or so to get the photo pages done and posted.
Again, THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THIS AMAZING EVENT POSSIBLE !!
The messages we are getting in are moving and inspiring to us. When the photos are up you'll see many of them, and hopefully they will be inspiring to everyone who reads them, too. Because when anyone writes to thank World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, or is inspired by World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, they ARE SPEAKING TO YOU. For, we are doing this together. Without the entire world participating, each one of our individual events is so much less, and in turn each one of us, together, becomes the entire world.
Below is one note we got in just now from South Africa's WTCQD organizers:
Dear Bill & [World Tai Chi & Qigong Day]
I thought that I would send you some pictures of World Tai Chi Day celebration in Cape Town, South Africa. After three days of rain, here I was thinking that we would have rain on our parade, but imagine our surprise when we were greeted by a bright sunny day!
I invited our local Councillor who had declared Edgemead to be part of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day and, together with locals and visitors, he participated in Qigong, followed by a short Tai Chi demonstration by my students. Participants of this special event were further treated to tea and Chinese bowties.
Thank you for all your assistance and useful advise from your website in promoting the event and of course I ran out of your t-shirts. Next time I will definitely order a whole lot more. This event really inspired other Tai Chi clubs to do the same next year.
My students and I are deeply greatfull for your all your support in promoting Tai Chi & Qigong.
Yours in health and kind regards
