WHEN YOU GET NATIONAL MEDIA ATTENTION PLEASE SHARE
Of course if you or your school or organization gets national or international media attention we encourage you to inform reporters of your school/organization contact information, or your books, or video programs.
HOWEVER, we also encourage you to inform them that www.worldtaichiday.org provides a global directory of Tai Chi & Qigong schools, and also Medical Research searchable-by-malady at www.worldtaichiday.org.
WHY? Because when you get national media attention, not everyone in the country will be able to travel to your school to learn. IF, you do not advocate all the schools listed at www.worldtaichiday.org, when those other schools get national media attention, they'll be less likely to inform reporters of your listing at www.worldtaichiday.org. By advocating one another's health & healing work and listings at www.worldtaichiday.org we advance all our work collectively.

Combat Veterans Find Relief from Post Traumatic Stress from Tai Chi Practice
Post-traumatic stress disorder in the cross hairs Doctors nationwide are testing experimental and conventional treatments to cure a growing number of afflicted veterans
By Dogen Hannah
CONTRA COSTA TIMES
In Iraq, disturbing dreams awakened Christian Valenti in the dead of night, leaving him panicked and drenched in cold sweat. From the moment his eyelids snapped open, the Army specialist couldn't recall the sights and sounds that had interrupted his sleep. He suspected that they were drawn from his day-to-day experiences as a soldier.
The East Bay native had been bombarded by mortars and been shot at by gunmen. He had seen the bodies of U.S. troops and Iraqi civilians. He had fired his rifle at people and killed some of them.
But he recalled nothing of his dreams.
"I would just wake up and would have no idea what had happened," said Valenti, who spent 14 months in Iraq. "I was terrified."
. . . In the Bay Area, veterans with PTSD have been benefiting from another ancient health practice: tai chi.
The Chinese martial art uses slow, deliberate movements and breathing to instill balance, relaxation and self-awareness. Noel O'Brien, a VA readjustment counselor, began teaching it to veterans in Oakland and Vallejo about six months ago.

On a personal note, my father suffered from combat related Post-Traumatic-Stress-Syndrome. It afflicted him for his entire life, and he struggled to control the violent moods it unleashed within our family.
I encourage all Tai Chi & Qigong teachers to contact their local Veterans Hospitals and Veterans organizations to work with them to provide Tai Chi and Qigong classes for returning veterans.
Here at World Tai Chi & Qigong Day national and international organizing center, we've provided free Qigong Meditation CDs to veterans, and also I've personally worked with veterans suffering PTSD at our local Veterans Administration Hospital in the past.
Thanks in advance for any teachers who persue Tai Chi or Qigong classes to help veterans heal from their physical and emotional wounds.

Italian Tai Chi Groups Provide a POWERFUL Example to Us ALL
Since the Italian Tai Chi & Qigong groups got involved in World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, they've gotten massive support from their national and regional media, and held massive events all over Italy.
One result of this event is an Italian city now sponsors Tai Chi classes for their citizens over 50 years old for free to their citizens of that age. Tai Chi teachers are paid by the city government.
