We are doing something profound together. I'll let the below subjects speak for themselves.
Thank you to all for your great efforts, and inspiring work, too numerous to list here.
As always, we request that you take a few minutes to forward this email on to all your Tai Chi and Qigong contacts, or others in health care, government, etc. who may be interested in an event working to advance global health, healing, and clarity through the advocacy of Tai Chi & Qigong. There is a FORWARD feature at the bottom of this email.
INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE on World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
World Tai Chi and Qigong Day . . . with thousands of participants . . . aims to send a "positive wave of energy" around the world and draw attention to the benefits of this ancient Chinese form of exercise . . . Maybe we should have World Tai Chi and Qigong Day every week.

USA WEEKEND on World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
Tai chi, a 2,000-year-old form of exercise, is non- competitive, gentle and self-paced. Anyone can do it, and the benefits are extensive.
"Tai chi is a combination of biofeedback, visualization and gentle exercise movements that together have a profound impact on mental, physical and emotional health," says Bill Douglas, founder and international director of World Tai Chi and Qigong Day, which takes place [the last Saturday of April each year]. "Tai chi is used as therapy for chronic pain and limited mobility, but its greatest power is preventive." . . .
Studies of tai chi show it reduces blood pressure, episodes of anxiety and depression, and symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It also helps give a boost to the immune system, builds bone mass, and improves chronic pain, limited mobility, balance and coordination.

National Council on the Aging "Qigong Tai Chi Project"
About two years ago World Tai Chi & Qigong Day was invited to participate on an Expert Panel working to advocate Tai Chi & Qigong for seniors across the United States.
This event/project was organized with the help Roger Jahnke, a former NQA boardmember, and author of "The Healer Within" and "The Healing Promise of Qi: Creating Extraordinary Wellness Through Qigong and Tai Chi."
This was a historic project, and the entire Tai Chi & Qigong world of teachers and enthusiasts owes Roger Jahnke a deep bow of gratitude.
THANK YOU ROGER !!

Roger Jahnke's book "The Healing Promise of Qi" Celebrates World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
Roger Jahnke's book "The Healing Promise of Qi" celebrates World Tai Chi & Qigong Day's global health & healing efforts, on page 261.
Do you know of other books that mention World Tai Chi & Qigong Day? If so, let us know.
Excerpt from "The Healing Promise of Qi":
The single most impressive Qi Chang Gong event takes place in April on World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, which was originated by an innovative Tai Chi teacher named Bill Douglas. It is associated with the weeklong celebration of World Health Week of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The effect of Qi Chang Gong is to increase and enhance the Qi field. In April of 1999 World Tai Chi and Qigong Day included ten thousand participants in eighteen countries. In April 2000 twenty-five thousand people in fifty countries took part. By April 2001 the numbers had increased to seventy-five thousand people in eighty countries. This Qi Chang, a worldwide field of healing and empowering influence, is growing by 100 percent per year. Given the remarkable healing effect of small groups, we can only guess at the benefit that this group field will generate in the future.
