HEALTH NOTES
It looks like slow-motion kung fu, but practitioners of tai chi say not to let that scare you away - particularly if you're looking for a mind-body exercise that can help you reduce nervous tension, improve concentration and increase flexibility and posture.
"It has a well-deserved reputation for promoting stress reduction and flexibility and those sorts of things," says David Dolbear, who runs White Crane Martial Arts in Syracuse.
He's celebrating World Tai Chi Day Saturday with an open house that will include tai chi workshops at 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m.
